I respect your privacy and aim to keep your personal information safe. This page explains what data may be collected through this website, why it is collected, and how it is handled.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy covers this website, nathanedwards.me. It's a personal portfolio site, not a service with accounts, subscriptions, or logins, so what gets collected here is limited: what you send me directly, and basic analytics on how the site gets used.
2. Information You Provide
If you use the contact form or email me directly, I collect whatever you include: your name, email address, and the content of your message. I use this only to respond to you and, if it leads to a project, to discuss that work.
3. Information Collected Automatically
This Site uses Google Analytics to understand how people use it: which pages get visited, how long people stay, what device or browser they're using, roughly where visitors are located, and what site referred them here. This is aggregate, anonymized-style usage data. I don't use it to identify you personally.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect the usage data described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, without affecting your ability to browse the Site.
5. How I Use Information
I use the information above to respond to inquiries, understand which parts of the Site are actually useful to visitors, and improve the Site over time. I don't use it for advertising, and I don't build profiles on visitors beyond what Google Analytics reports in aggregate.
6. How I Share Information
I don't sell or rent your information to anyone. Google Analytics processes usage data on my behalf, governed by Google's own privacy policy. I may disclose information if required by law, or to protect my rights, safety, or property, or those of others.
7. Data Retention
I keep contact form and email inquiries as long as needed to respond to you or, if we work together, for the length of that engagement plus a reasonable period after. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's own retention settings for this property.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information I have about you, request a copy of it, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used. To make any of these requests, email me directly using the contact info below.
9. Children's Privacy
This Site isn't directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information through this Site, contact me and I'll remove it.
10. Security
I take reasonable steps to protect the information sent to me, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and I can't guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-Party Links
This Site may link to other websites, including client sites and social profiles, that I don't control. Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies before sharing information with them.
12. International Visitors
If you're visiting from outside the United States, understand that your information may be processed in the United States and by Google's infrastructure wherever it operates Analytics processing, which may be a different country than your own.
13. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy as the Site changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
