Moved a nonprofit off a donation platform eating its fundraising in fees, onto one that charges zero.

Nathan gave us a site that finally looks like the community event we always wanted people to see, not just a donation link. It made this year's race feel real before anyone even showed up.

Motion4Peace is an annual community 5K in Irving, TX, organized through Sagrada União Church to fund family, youth, and community-wellness programs.

Motion4Peace came to me running on a WordPress site and a donation platform that was quietly eating their fundraising in transaction fees, over $900 gone to fees the year before we started. I moved the site to Framer, found and set up Zeffy to bring those fees down to zero, and handled the branding across everything physical the event touches: race tickets, t-shirts, merch, flyers, and banners.

Challenge

A donation platform charging enough in fees to eat into a volunteer-run event's actual mission.

Before this project, Motion4Peace ran their event on WordPress and processed donations through a platform that charged a transaction fee on every gift. For a nonprofit funding community and youth programs on a volunteer budget, that adds up fast: over $900 disappeared into fees in a single year, money that should have gone straight to the cause. The WordPress site also wasn't built to carry the event's actual story, sponsors, or race-day logistics. It was a donation form standing in for a website.

Solution

Found Zeffy to bring transaction fees to zero, rebuilt the site on Framer, and designed the branding across everything the event touches physically.

I researched donation platforms built specifically for nonprofits and landed on Zeffy, which charges organizations nothing per transaction. Moving Motion4Peace onto it meant the $900+ they lost to fees the year before goes straight to the mission instead. Alongside that, I rebuilt their site on Framer with a real event structure: countdown, schedule, venue and course info, a sponsor showcase, merch, and an FAQ, all routed into Zeffy for ticketing and team fundraising.

The branding work extended past the site itself. I designed the race tickets, event t-shirts, merch, flyers, and banners, so the event looks like one consistent thing whether someone sees it online, on a shirt, or on a flyer at their church.

Result

Site live at motion4peace.org, running on Zeffy with zero transaction fees. The 2026 race raised $10,030, the most the event has ever brought in.

The May 2026 event raised $10,030, the most Motion4Peace has ever brought in for a single race, funding community outreach, youth programs, and shared-space improvements. None of it was lost to fees, unlike the $900+ that went to transaction costs the year before.
